I am a recent graduate from Mt. Sierra College in Monrovia, CA with a degree in Media Arts and Design: Visual Effects and Digital Media. Classes in the program have included drawing, sculpting, graphic design, illustration, Photoshop, motion graphics, compositing, 3D modeling, lighting and rendering, rigging, animation, and dynamics.A copy of my resume can be found here: http://darrolmoore.com/Moore_DarrolResume.pdf

Starting in 2007, I have worked as a freelance animator on animatics for Tumbleweed Entertainment. Companies have included Altoids, PopTarts, Walmart, P&G, Blue Diamond, Anheuser-Busch, and Jack Daniels. Other projects for Tumbleweed Entertainment have included the design of graphics for clients such as Fox Sports Network and Sierra Club Productions.

For the most part I am self taught building on that foundation while in school. While in video production in high school, I started using After Effects to create title sequences for the weekly news program that I was the editor of. It was those skills that got me started with Tumbleweed Entertainment. Later on, while still early in the program at Mt. Sierra, I started working with Maya after purchasing Learning Autodesk Maya 2010. By the time I got to the first class on the subject, I already knew my way around the program and had a few models in my portfolio.

My goal is to enter the CG animation industry. I am still trying to find my way as I go but I am honing my skills constantly to figure out the best path which I believe may be rigging/character TD. Having always been told that I think like an engineer, it makes sense based on my understanding of modeling and animation.

I have experience using the following programs:

  • Adobe After Effects
  • Autodesk Maya 2010-2013
  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Adobe Illustrator
  • Adobe Premiere
  • Adobe Dreamweaver
  • Adobe Indesign
